Meetings are held at the Erie Yacht Club in Erie PA and begin at 6:00 pm with a social hour and dinner, followed by our program/speaker. Enter from West 6th Street on Kahkwa Blvd, North to Virginia Ave, and turn right on Virginia Ave to the Yacht Club. Tell the attendant you are with the Torch Club.

Our Dinner Menu:
Dinner Menu: We will have a two Entrée Buffet, choice of, Smoked Boneless Pork Chops with Brown Sugar Sauce or Baked-Eggplant Parmesan, Au Gratin Potato’s, Peas and Carrots, Salad, and Fresh Baked Dinner Rolls with Butter, along with Coffee, Decaffeinated Coffee, Tea, Milk or Iced Tea. Our dessert will be Sherbet.

Our presenter for this evening is Dr. Zachary Irwin, Ph.D., Associate Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Penn State Behrend, Harborcreek PA

Teaching and research interests include comparative politics and political theory, as well as the politics of Southeastern Europe.

Dr. Irwin has published in scholarly journals such as East European Quarterly, Problems of Communism, and The World Today.

He has contributed many book chapters particularly concerning former Yugoslavia.

He has held fellowships from the Wilson Center, as well as Fulbright and IREX grants.
