Mark Squeglia, BA History, Gannon
Mark is an Erie native, He has spent the majority of his career working in the areas of information technology and marketing for Hammermill Paper, Erie Insurance and General Electric. Squeglia is the board vice president of the Hagen History Center board of directors, and he has been involved in governance, advancement, planning, facilities, and executive committees. He stepped in as the interim executive director between December and June 2022 while taking a leave of absence from the board. Squeglia has a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Gannon College and has been involved in the Hagen History Center's speaker series for several years. He is also a frequent lecturer for the Jefferson Education Society of Erie on historical topics, specializing in military history, specifically World War II. He is also a board member of Torch International's Erie chapter and a member of the Perry 200 Commission.Topic:

Great Britain Alone - June 1940 to June 1941
With the French capitulation in June of 1940 to the German invasion of Russia in June of 1941, Great Britain stood alone against Hitler's Nazi war machine. How was Great Britain able to survive for those twelve months against the ever-growing Nazi Empire? The lecture will analyze the political, military, and domestic situations which took place in Great Britain, and her allied and enemy countries during this period.
